Kamaka 100th Anniversary Concert, Part 6
คอนเสิร์ต Kamaka เริ่มขึ้นเวลา 18:00 น. คนดูแน่นขนัด เพราะขายตั๋วปุ๊บก็หมดทันที แถมมีการนำไปขายต่อแบบประมูลจนราคาขึ้นไปสองสามเท่าก็มี ข้อดีของตั๋วคือ เขาไม่ได้ระบุที่นั่ง แต่จะมาได้ที่นั่งเอาก็ตรงหน้างาน ก่อนงานเริ่มเขาจะให้ทุกคนออกไปหมด แล้วเข้ามาใหม่ และได้บัตรตามคิวที่เข้ามา The 100th Anniversary Concert started at 6pm sharp. This event's tickets are sold out since the first week that it was on sale. Some had to auctioned the tickets from Yahoo auction and paid triple the actual price. This is a once in a life time event in deed.
The concert started with a short documentary about ukuleles origin and history of Kamaka. After a wonderful documentary, The Side Order Band opened the show. Members of this band are master musicians, Chris Kamaka (Double bass), Bryan Tolentino (Ukulele), Asa Young (Guitar) and Dell Beezly (Guitar & Vocal). มีการฉายสารคดีเกี่ยวกับความเป็นมาของอูคูเลเล่ และประวัติ Kamaka สั้นๆ ก่อนจะเริ่มคอนเสิร์ตด้วยวง The Side Order Band ซึ่งสมาชิกแต่ละคนคือกูรูของวงการดนตรีฮาวายทั้งสิ้นครับ ชื่อไปอ่านเอาจากภาษาอังกฤษข้างบนได้เลย
มีการเต้นระบำฮูล่าโดยลูกหลานตระกูล Kamaka ด้วย ในภาพคือ Ihilani Kamaka ลูกสาวของ Chris Kamaka มาเต้นประกอบเพลงของคุณพ่อ Chris Kamaka's daugther performed hula dance while her dad's band played Hawaiian tune.

After The Side Order Band performance, there was a short Chris Kamaka interview by Kazuyuki Sekiguchi. มีการสัมภาษณ์ Chris Kamaka โดย Kazuyuki Sekiguchi เล็กน้อยขั้นการแสดงถัดไป จะเห็นว่าคนญี่ปุ่นมีความสนใจในอูคูเลเล่มาก และตั้งใจ เอาจริงกับการจัดงาน ที่ผู้เข้างานจะได้รู้ลึกทุกสิ่งเกี่ยวกับ Kamaka กันเลยทีเดียว
และก็ถึงคราว Kalei Gamiao ศิลปินที่ผมดูแลขึ้นมาบรรเลงเพลงแสนหวาน คืนนี้เขาเลือกมาเฉพาะเพลงช้า ให้เข้ากับผู้ชมที่ส่วนมากเป็นรุ่นใหญ่ เปิดคอนเสิร์ตได้แบบอุ่นเครื่องเรียกน้ำย่อยได้ดีทีเดียว Kalei Gamiao, the artist that I managed, performed right after Chris's interview. He selected only mellow tune, which suited the audiences quite well. It was a good start for the concert.

Kalei Gamiao is an ukulele virtuoso from Haleiwa, Hawaii. I have been his manager for about 4 years now. It's always my pleasure managing him. นี่คือศิลปินที่ผมดูแลมาร่วม 4 ปีแล้ว เขาคือสุดยอดมืออูคูเลเล่จาก Haleiwa ฮาวาย การได้เป็นผู้จัดการเขา ไม่เหมือนกับว่าทำงาน แต่เหมือนผมได้ดูแลน้องชายของผมเอง และค่อยๆ เห็นเขายิ่งใหญ่ขึ้นเรื่อยๆ

Kalei มาใสเสื้อฮาวายของ Reyn Spooner แบรนด์เสื้อดังจากฮาวาย ที่ไม่แน่ใจว่าลาเมืองไทยไปหรือยัง เพราะผมเคยเห็นมีร้านอยู่ แต่ร้านที่เห็นหายไปแล้ว ใครเป็นแฟน Kamaka ตัวจริง ลองไปหามาใส่กันครับ ผมเองมีสองตัว และกำลังรอตัวที่สาม ราคาแพงโคตรแต่ถ้าเราเอาจริงก็ต้องมีครับ

Both of them were friends since a very young age. It's amazing that they're still friends and both become well known ukulele players of the world. ทั้งคู่เป็นเพื่อนกันมาแต่เด็ก และโตขึ้นมาก็ยังได้เป็นศิลปินแถวหน้าของวงการอูคูเลเล่โลกด้วย น่าชื่นชมจริงครับ To be continued...
